About Galilee: Worshipping God......It’s What We Do!
Who We Are:
The lifeblood of Galilee is when we worship together. Both our Sunday morning services and Wednesday evening services give our family time to come together and express our gratitude to God. Worship styles vary from church to church more today than ever before. You will discover that GCC seeks excellence in how we approach God while doing so in a variety of ways.
Music is a huge part of worship for any church. GCC’s musical styles will generally be at the center of most musical tastes. The best of both old hymns and new choruses can be heard each week from the voices of the faithful. Our choir and bell ministry grace our services and GCC is richly blessed with some of the finest musicians anywhere. And there is always something new to keep us stretching our music appreciation. Whether in how we celebrate the Lord’s Supper each week, or how we are led in prayer or meditation; whether in the design of the service that always engages each to stay focused on the Father, or in how the preaching is carefully crafted to be relevant and vital everything that is done on Wednesdays and Sundays is to help the Christian in his relationship with God.
What kind of church is Galilee Christian Church?
That’s the question most often asked by those considering visiting us. Well, we’re a church with average attendance on Sundays in the 500s. We are made up of people from every social level and background. You will find young couples here and elderly saints, lots of children and parents of those children. There are sinners here, too (actually all of us.) But the one thing that unites us is our love for Jesus Christ and the Bible that tells us all about Him. This is a safe and loving place. We hope that sounds like a place worth checking out. You are welcome here anytime.
OK, but what is a “Christian” Church?
That’s the second most asked question we get. Most people have grown up in churches that have some type of headquarters, synod, or governing convention. But in the Christian Church there is no such organization that has oversight of the churches. Each church is an autonomous congregation. That means that, as an independent, non - denominational church, each congregation controls its own money, hires its own ministers, supports its own missions, and owns its own property. That does not mean, however, we are an island unto ourselves because we work and fellowship with other Christian churches and support mission work that reaches all over the world. The Christian Church was formed as an effort to say that we are not the only Christians but we are Christians only. We are not divided by denominational names. The Bible alone becomes our guide as we believe it is the Word of God to mankind. We reach out to everyone, regardless of his or her economic status, race, or place in life because Christ invited everyone to come to Him.
