Ministr y Mind Set
At Galilee, we believe that children are special individuals who deserve our very best in training,
our endless outpouring of love, and our continued affirmation in their lives. We believe in the importance of following Biblical standards set forth for children, and we strive to support the families who choose to entrust us with their little ones. It is our goal to provide a fun, Bible based
education in a loving and safe environment, and in order to assure that these facets are met, we hold excellent weekly programming for all ages as well as fun special events for kids and families.
Programs
The children’s ministry provides weekly programs and classes for age birth through fifth grade students. Programs are designed to help children enjoy their church experience while learning about Biblical truths. Our programs are split into three different areas: Sunday morning, Sunday night and Wednesday night. Each of these areas offers unique opportunities to kids.
On Sunday morning, nursery, preschool and elementary classes are offered. The nursery is staffed with loving individuals who want to care for the youngest members of our church. Our preschool classes consist of a 2-year-old, 3-year -old and pre- kindergarten class.
Each of these is taught by trained individuals who provide age appropriate lessons, crafts and fun activities for the kids.
Elementary classes consist of a Sunday school class and a children’s church, which we call Promiseland. These classes are split into Kindergarten - 2nd grade and 3rd - 5th grade groups. In
Sunday school, students hear about Bible stories and work on activities to help reinforce what
they learn. Promiseland is a child-size version of church complete with a worship time and special
message prepared just for the kids.
Children’s Choir
Sunday night is when our children’s choir meets. This is a fun opportunity for kids to get involved and let their dramatic side out. Our children’s choir performs twice a year, and it is always a great
performance! This is open to all elementary aged kids, and there is no experience needed.
Special Events
In addition to high quality weekly programming, Galilee offers a variety of special events for kids to enjoy. We believe it is important for kids to get out and have fun, and for families to have the opportunity to spend time together. Some events include:
Easter Egg Hunt, Vacation Bible School, Summer Camp, SuperStart (preteen convention), and a
Pumpkin Pickin’ Excursion. Galilee also hosts special events planned around the family and designed to give families the opportunity to spend time together. These events include: A Barn Party, Christmas Banquet and Ekklesia. With all of the special events plus the weekly programming, Galilee has lots to offer families with young children. Through all of these programs we hope to be able to aid families in training their children to live Godly lives filled with joy and happiness.
